Leopard at Exotic Feline Breeding Compound Over 70 of the world’s most endangered felines reside right here in the Antelope Valley. At the Exotic Feline Breeding compound in Rosamond, not only will you see some of the worlds most rare and beautiful cats in all their glory, but also many of them are housed just a few feet away from where you may stand to view them.

From the moment you walk through the doors, you will be in awe of these magnificent creatures. Created to educate and promote awareness of these very rare cats; the public area of the compound offers a park like atmosphere in which you may stroll through at your own pace. You will encounter many different types of cat and you can read about them at every stop along the way. Photographs are also allowed, so bring a camera or you may wish you did once you get there!

Times:
Thursday through Tuesday from 10 am until 4 pm. Closed Wednesdays, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and the day of the Feline Follies event in August.

How to get there:

Exit the Antelope Valley Freeway (14) at Rosamond Blvd., Turn left onto Rosamond Blvd. and make a right at Mojave-Tropico Road. (There is a large sign on Rosamond Blvd that will guide you). Turn left on Rhyolite and follow it until you see EFBC parking area. Signs are very visible from Mojave-Tropico road to guide you into the compound.

What to bring:

A camera - if you're so inclined
Water is good during the summer as it can get very hot - it can also be purchased on the premisis
Winter can bring cold tempuratures and even colder wind gusts - so come prepared to be outdoors

You should know:

Cats are more active in the early evening hours and in cooler weather.
Summer tempuratures can climb upwards of 120 degrees - so be prepared
Three times per year - EFBC holds a "twilight tour" where you can visit from 5:30pm until sundown and see the cats when they are most active. You can even have your photo taken with one of the cats (If they are cooperating) - You must be over 18 to attend. Admission is $15 per person.
If you would like to bring a large group - you must call in advance all (661) 256-3793, weekdays except Wednesday, 10am-4pm to schedule your group's tour.
Your donations are gratefully accepted and help to provide for the cats; everything from food to new enclosures.
