Antelope Valley Fair and Alfalfa Festival |
 The largest annual event in the Antelope Valley is the AV Fair and alfalfa festival. Once a year the AV fairgrounds are jammed packed with events and things to do during this 11 day festival. Events include performances from local performers to big name celebrities, rural olympics, demolition derby, auctions, bull riding and much, much more!
Kids can enjoy many activities such petting zoos, animal exhibits, carnival rides, games, face painting and all sorts of fun while adults peruse the huge selection of wares for sale by local vendors, exhibits and attractions. No matter who you are there is plenty for you to enjoy at the AV fair.

Shopping, livestock exhibitions and auctions, carnival rides and games, art exhibits, demolition derby, rural olympics, concerts (both free and paid), entertainment and an ever changing list of yearly activities.

Yearly, the fair runs for 11 days beginning August 22 and ending September 1
How to get there:
- Exit the Antelope Valley Freeway (14) at Avenue H and head west. The fairgrounds are located right off of the freeway and can be seen very easily from the southbound 14 freeway.
What to bring:
- Comfortable shoes
- Cash for food and other vendors (ATMs are also located near the entrance)
- Camera if you are so inclined - there are sure to be fun moments to capture
You should know:
- If you even remotely dress like you belong to a gang you will get stopped by patrolling police
- Be prepared to walk - alot. The grounds are large and getting from one side to the other is a trek.
- It is still hot in the Antelope Valley at this time of year. Evenings will cool a bit, but it generally remains warm and windy at times.
