Palmdale high school fireworks fourth of july

Each year the city of Palmdale puts on a firework extravaganza to celebrate the fourth of July with a BANG! The show can be seen from vantage points all across the Antelope Valley, but the best experience is had within the football field at Palmdale High School; they do a great job of choreographing the music with the fireworks display.

If you choose not to go to the school to view the fireworks, you can park in various lots in the area and still get the same reverberating excitement that only a huge mortar can bring. Many people actually choose to sit outside of the school boundaries and enjoy a tailgating party with friends. Bring your ice chest (minus the alcohol) and you're set!

How to get there:

Exit the Antelope Valley Freeway (14) at Palmdale Boulevard and head east to 20th street east. Turn right (south) on 20th street East and you will find the parking area for the Palmdale High football field on your left side (east).

What to bring:

A lawn chair or a blanket to sit on if you plan to relax on the field itself
Cash for concessions in case you get hungry or thirsty

You should know:

The earlier you go - the better. This place gets packed soon after the gates open.
Alcoholic beverages, pets, smoking and personal fireworks aren't allowed
If you plan to get a good seat, plan to sit around for a couple hours before the actual show starts.
Fireworks begin at dusk, but live music starts around 7:30 so there is some entertainment available while you are hanging out
