Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve PDF Print E-mail

california poppy reserveThe rolling hills in the westernmost Antelope Valley come alive in springtime. From afar the hills appear airbrushed with color. While the California Poppy Reserve may be a great subject for a painting, it's also a great place to go for a walk, learn about our state flower and at the same time, take in the magnificent view.

Eight miles of trails, including a paved trail for wheelchair access, weave their way throughout the preserve and provide both distant and up close access to several different species of wildflower native to California. There is also a small visitors center with information on the wildflowers you will see in bloom. Mid March to mid May are the best viewing times, however the park is open year-round for day use. Peak flower viewing is usually in mid April.
