I am not normally a metrolink or taxicab patron, however was forced to when the freeway was closed. Southland was the only cab company I saw picking up people at the Palmdale Metro during the snowstorm. I called three other companies from the station, two of which said that they were not serving Palmdale due to the snow and one of which that just wasn’t answering their phone at all. With hundreds of people attempting to catch cabs and with taxi drivers encouraging people to share, I will not say it was a pleasant experience however my hat is off to Southland Yellow Cab for staying open. I will use them again if I ever have the need and maybe I will try their fast food delivery service, I had no idea that they would do that.
