Trendy, Los Angeles based fashion store "Forever 21" will move to a much larger space; taking up the old Mervyn's building at the Palmdale Mall.

Los Angeles-based Forever 21 Inc. has officially announced that it is on schedule to open 11 large-format stores by the end of March in former Mervyns locations owned by Macerich, an owner, operator and developer of regional shopping centers. The openings will begin this week on Feb. 26. Macerich purchased 39 Mervyns sites in December 2007, and two Mervyns sites in first quarter 2008.

Second Deadlock for Michelle O'Keefe Trial

The jury deadlocked 11 to 1 in favor of a conviction of the security guard that was patrolling the lot at the Palmdale Park and Ride.

This is the second time the jury has deadlocked on this stating there wasn't enough evidence to convict  Raymond Lee Jennings of first degree murder. That's eleven YES votes andone NO vote. The last trial was more evenly split as I recall.

California Foreclosure's Hardest Hit Zip Codes

Since 2006 we have auditing and reporting mortgage fraud and predatory lending in our area, the Antelope valley to ALL related Local, Federal and State Agencies* and the ONLY responces we got were: "this is not our jurisdiction" "this is civil matter" there is no fraud" "we are still researching applicable laws" "you signed it , it's your fault" "is this a report from that crazy guy from Avenue S" "that's how loans really are" "sorry to hear your problems, we cannot help" and the list of denial goes on.

Johnny Carino's in Palmdale Closing??

Posted by Sarah Soto in Palmdale , Antelope Valley

Wow I was just told by a friend that Johnny Carino's at the AV mall is going to close. I don't live super close to the mall, so I'm not sure if it's true or not. Does anyone know?

I guess it's a sign of the times in this economy that a place like that would have to shut its doors. I liked the food there, but I too am forced to cut back on eating out due to lack of money and financial instability. In fact, I haven't eaten out (even fast food) in over 6 months. Coming from someone that used to eat out about 3-5 times per week it's odd, but I believe it's for the best and we all feel healthier eating home-cooked meals.
