Earthquake Prison Break Question For OfficialsPosted by Ace Carter in sheriff, LASD, crime |
Still Unanswered Public Safety Questions by LA County, Lancaster and Palmdale
In the event of a Large Earthquake, will most of OUR Sheriffs be reassigned to guarding the prison rather than patrol and security duties in the community?
If there is a prison break how will the residents, schools and businesses be warned? Will most of the Sheriffs be at the prison? How many?

As the public relations director at the California State Prison in Lancaster, Jeffra further stated that in the event of a large 7+ magnitude earth quake here, that the prison would probably survive serious damage because of the way it was built.
That IF such a disaster happened, the prisoners would be locked down and further reinforcements from local Deputies would NOT be necessary. He said that many of the LASO Deputies live in the AV and that, "A thousand deputies" would be available for emergency activities including rioting and looting in OUR community.
Jeffra said that there would not be a problem of conflicts for Deputies wherein they would be forced to choose whether or not to protect their own families first. Apparently they plan ahead for inner family communications and care of each other while the Deputies are away.
He went on to say that once the prisoners were safely locked down or in case of unsafe cells moved to an open and heavily guarded area, that the prison's medical facilities would be able to serve as a hospital.
Jeffra also said that people living nearby who suffered the destruction of their homes could find safe shelter there too.
I suggested that a Siren could be installed at the prison in case of any prison escape or emergency to alert and warn neighbors nearby like the Castaic prison uses and he seemed to agree that it might be a good idea.
